We hope the information below answers many of the questions you may have about your visit to The Turtley Corn Mill, however we're more than happy to assist you further if you would like to get in touch.
Monday to Saturday; open from 8:30am until 11:00pm
Sundays; open from 8:30am until 10:30pm
Our full menu is served daily from 12:00 midday until 9:00pm (9:30pm on Saturdays) although on very busy nights our ability to take orders may end a little earlier. Breakfast is available from 8:30 to 11:00 every day.
Children & Minors (U18)
We welcome young people in all areas of the pub up to 7:00pm daily – after 7:00pm they continue to be welcome but only in The Mill Room. Naturally they are able to use the gardens at all times as long as parents keep a watchful eye on them, this is particularly important around the lake and river banks. You know what kids and water are like!
Whilst we do not have high chairs we do have plenty of booster seats that strap onto our chairs, these are suitable for little ones from about 12 months upwards. If you would like to bring your own high chair we will make sure there is plenty of space at your table. We do not have a specific children’s menu but we do have a number of dishes on our main menu that we can prepare in smaller portions; we are also more than happy to give you an extra plate if you want to share!
Our pub areas are mostly flat with wide doors making it suitable for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility. A few of our tables are located up some very shallow steps, so if access is a concern for you then please let us know when booking so we can ensure that you are booked onto the most suitable table.
Unfortunately, our bedrooms are not wheelchair accessible.
We are very dog friendly! Dogs, of the well behaved variety, are very welcome at Turtley anywhere inside the pub apart from the section we call ‘The Library’. For larger breeds there is plenty of space around the tables in the gardens for them to stretch out. Whilst in the gardens they should always be kept on a lead; delightfully we are full of ducks, chickens, guinea fowl and peacocks but to dogs they are all a little too tempting! Whilst outside we must ask you to clean up after your dog and to help you do so we have provided the necessary facilities by the lake and adjacent to the car park.
Please see our notes on booking a table with dogs below.
Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs in the bedrooms.
Bookings & Service
We do take bookings, both over the phone and online, but always endeavour to make sure that there is plenty of room for customers who are not able to book in advance. If you don’t have a booking with us, then you may eat, or just drink, at any table that is not laid up.
If you are a booked table we will take your food and wine order (bottles only) at the table, unless sitting outside, but all other drinks, including glasses of wine, are ordered and collected by yourself from the bar. Indeed if you prefer you may order all your food and drinks at the bar, the crew will simply check which table you have chosen as you place your order.
If you will be accompanied by a four-legged friend, then please let us know when you are booking so we can ensure you are in the right area. Unfortunately we cannot take bookings for anything larger than a labrador (or thereabouts!) as there simply isn’t enough space around the tables!
Finally, we are more than happy to run a tab for you to save you fiddling around with cash. That way there’s an outside chance Dad will pay for everything too!
The Mill Room at Turtley lends itself beautifully to larger group bookings but we can also cater for smaller groups of friends and family with ease. For groups of 8 or more, we would ask for a deposit to secure your booking, and depending on the number in your group and the date we may also ask for a pre-order. We are happy to talk through your booking with you so please do call us to find out what we can offer.
We are happy to take bookings for accommodation over the phone as well as online. You will find lots of information on our accommodation as well as photos, here on our website. However, if you do have any specific requirements then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The garden and lake areas are, of course, for the enjoyment of our customers only and we would ask that you respect this by only consuming any food or drink purchased from us. We also have a giant chess set, croquet and in the summer there’s even a little boat for you to row round the lake!
Walking The Grounds
If you fancy walking off your lunch, or working up an appetite, then as well as wandering around the lake and gardens there is a little track running into a field at the top right hand corner of the car park – a great place to wear out the dogs and/or kids! It’s about a 15 minute walk around the field and alongside the river but bear in mind that it does get muddy so you may need your wellies.
We are lucky enough to have a wonderful lake on our grounds and to be bordered by the River Glazebrook. You are welcome to enjoy your drinks around the lake and by the river, although we don’t deliver food to those areas. However, please remember that the water is quite deep and these waterside areas are not supervised by us. If you are with your kids then you’ll need eyes in the back of your head!
Wireless Broadband is available throughout the pub. If you would like to make use of this then simply ask your computer to search for the wireless network available, and then select TCPublic from those that it finds. You will not need a password or login name to access this network. Laptops not provided!
